you don't have to be from wisconsin to enjoy this blog, but it sure does help.

“I come here because basically if I spend four days here drinking, and even with the plane ticket, it’s cheaper than drinking in New York.”

Chicago vs. New York, oh snap, this shit is going down

If you couldn’t already tell I’m not doing my job today at work, here’s further evidence.

In this clip, Tina Fey talks about her early years in comedy working in Chicago, what restaurants she likes on Chicago’s north side, and why she likes Chicago better than New York.

That’s right, people, Tina likes the Midwest better than the East Coast. Suck it, New Yorkers.

Your welcome, Chicagoans.

TBS Goes Back to the 1980s with New College Comedy GLORY DAZE
NOTE: The following article is in part from a press release issued by TBS. Any errors, typos, etc. are attributed to the original author. I, however, have added the bold print.
TBS has given the greenlight to the one-hour comedy series GLORY DAZE, a 1980s-set college comedy starring Kelly Blatz (Aaron Stone), Callard Harris (Sons of Anarchy), Matt Bush (High School), Drew Seeley (Freshman Father), Hartley Sawyer (Killian), Julianna Guill (My Alibi) and Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls). TBS has ordered eight episodes of the series, which was created by Walt Becker (Wild Hogs) and Michael LeSieur (You, Me and Dupree). GLORY DAZE is slated to premiere on TBS Tuesday, November 16 at 10:00/9:00c.
Said premiere comes just a week into TBS’s bow of “Conan,” due Monday, November 8 at 11:00/10:00c.
GLORY DAZE centers on a group of friends who are trying to navigate college life in 1980s Wisconsin. From being out on their own for the first time to pledging a fraternity, they discover how challenging the next few years are going to be.
“GLORY DAZE is a sharply written, laugh-out-loud comedy with a talented ensemble cast, including comic veteran Tim Meadows,” said Jack Donaghy Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming, for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “The time is right for this feel-good, funny and fresh take on college life in the ’80s.”
TBS’s GLORY DAZE is being produced by TBS Productions. Becker and LeSieur, who wrote the pilot episode, serve as executive producers.

Two fat chicks in Minnesota produce a low-budget Favre-obsessed farce, wear cheeseheads
After reading their little write-up, though, I have to say this does actually look mildly entertaining. (If I was a pop-drinking, Prince-worshipping, Wisconsin-hating, Target-shopping, Scandinavian ancestry-having Minnesotan, that is.)
According to the editor of the Twin Cities based Pioneer Press, the satirical sketch comedy at Brave New Workshop Comedy Theatre is “freakin’ funny.”
Of course it is.
The Brave New Workshop will perform ‘Brett Favre’s Christmas Spectacular II: The Second Coming’ from Nov. 12 through Jan. 30. For information on that show or the current one (‘Spilling Me Softly; or Once the Gulf Goes Black, It Never Goes Back’), call 612-332-6620 or check their website (link above).

…for an embarrassing Catholic Church child molestation scandal.

Oh wait, I’m sorry.

I forgot to mention a few details:

This man of the cloth, this so-called holy man molested little deaf boys.

200 of them.

For over twenty years.

Our current Pope was, at the time, the guy who was supposed to deal with sexual abuse trials. And he ignored Milwaukee’s then-Archbishop Rembert Weakland’s requests that Murphy be put to trial.

And now he’s the Pope.

Romantic, isn’t it?
